In order to facilitate the transformation of Kowloon East into an attractive Central Business District, the Government has proposed to build a 1.3km elevated walkway(#6,7,8) along Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong. It connects the Kowloon Bay Action Area and Kwun Tong Action Area(#7,8) by installing travellators with greater convenience to the public, creating a seamless road network.
Furthermore, the Government has also put forward the construction plan of a footbridge reaching the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. The pedestrian and cyclist bridge of about 600m(#6,7,8) lies across the promenade. It facilitates pedestrians to commute between the two areas, while consolidating Kwun Tong District as a travel hub.
